MRR application, readmission from LOA/AWOL starts Feb. 6
The UP College of Education recently announced that it will receive applications for extension of residence and readmission from leave of absence (LOA) and absence without leave (AWOL) meant to take effect Summer 2012 and 1st semester 2012-2013, starting February 6 until March 30, 2012. Concerned students are advised to attend to this matter as soon as possible to qualify for enrollment on June 2012. For application details, please click here.

UPCED delegates top Pre-Service Teachers Competition in Baguio Convention
Student teacher delegates from the UP College of Education won the five competition categories in the 1st National Pre Service Teachers’ Convention held in Baguio City on Oct 3 to 6, 2011. Dubbed as PRESET 2011, the convention aimed to gather preservice teachers in early childhood, elementary education, and secondary education, and engage them in educational and entertaining activities. UPCED stays no. 1 in LET; UPD is top performing school
The UP College of Education again topped the April 2011 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) with 100% passing rate in the elementary level and 97.18% in secondary, making UP Diliman number 1 among the top performing schools in the said licensure examination.
The April 2011 LET results likewise showed that seven (7) graduates of the College belong to the top ten for the elementary level. Five BSE graduates, on the other hand, made it to the highest posts, with Marissa Pontillas leading the successful examinees for the secondary level. Continue reading
155 UPCED students graduate
The UP College of Education recognized its 155 graduates during Parangal 2011 ceremonies held in Cine Adarna (University Film Institute) on April 14, 2011. This year’s recognition rites had for its theme Makabuluhang Edukasyon: Tungo sa Hamon ng Bagong Dekada. Drs. Christopher and Ma. Victoria Bernido graced the occasion as speakers.
Of the 2011 graduates, 34 received a Bachelor of Education (BEEd) degree, 54 a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE), 56 a Master’s, and 11 a doctorate. Thirty one of them were granted honors, such that 12 graduated magna cum laude and 19 cum laude. Continue reading
2011 Gawad Kolehiyo Awardees
The UP College of Education (UPCED) recently awarded the 2011 Gawad Kolehiyo Awards to five members of its faculty in recognition of their exemplary teaching performance.
Awardees for this year’s Gawad Kolehiyo: The MacArthur and Josefina Delos Reyes Excellence in Teaching Awards were Dr. Edilberto Dizon of Special Education Area, Dr. Nympha Joaquin of Science Teaching Area, Professor Lizamarie Olegario & Professor Vanessa Oyzon of the Educational Foundations Area and Professor Elenita Que of the Educational Technology Area.
The awarding ceremony, held in UPCED’s Benitez Theatre last February 16, was attended by former UP Diliman Chancellor Dr. Sergio Cao, members of Delos Reyes family, UP Professor Emeritus Dr. Milagros Ibe, other UPCED faculty members, staff and students.
