START OF TEACHING: January 2016, Second Semester AY 2015-2016
The Faculty of the UP Diliman College of Education seeks two full time assistant/associate professors of Language Education. Applicants must have the following qualifications.
– with undergraduate academic preparation in language or a field that trains one in language and communication
– must have a doctoral degree OR at least a master’s degree in Language Education (or a closely related field) from a reputable university
– must have a combination of secondary and tertiary level teaching experience
– must have taught Filipino in either or both the secondary and tertiary levels
– must have the capability to teach a variety of Language Education courses

– must have taught English in either or both the secondary and tertiary levels

Review of applications will begin immediately and appointment of selected applicants will begin in January 2016. The selected applicants are expected to perform the following duties:
(1) teach Language Education and other related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; (2) advise graduate students who are writing their thesis or dissertation; (3) serve as thesis/dissertation critic or panel member; (4) serve in division, college, and university committees; (5) attend faculty meetings regularly; (6) maintain active research agenda as documented through publications and presentations; (7) render extension (community) service; and (8) develop and update syllabi for courses to be taught.
