The College of Education hosted on November 21, 2023, several master’s degree students and faculty members from the Universiti Putra Malaysia who were in the country for a comprehensive visit.
Twenty-seven (27) students and faculty members from the Faculty of Educational Studies of the Universiti Putra Malaysia were welcomed and toured by Dean Jerome T. Buenviaje and other College officials around the College, University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS), and the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (NISMED).
The Malaysian visitors also went to the ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education (ATCPDE) in Diliman Quezon City. Asst. Prof. Francis Grace H. Duka-Pante gave them a lecture on drug prevention and the works of the center.
Dean Buenviaje and college officials gave the visitors information on the profile of the College, program offerings, population, best practices, and other details about it.
The students are taking the Master’s Education in Guidance and Counseling program of the Universiti Putra Malaysia. They are currently in their third semester which focuses on substance abuse education, prevention, and rehabilitation.
