Chemistry Education major Jacob Christian De Jesus was one of the six winners in this year’s Gawad PCEP sa Pinakamahusay na Video Lesson ng Gurong Mag-Aaral competition open to fourth year student teachers nationwide.
In this competition, the student teacher participants were tasked to create a 5-minute culture-based video lesson focusing on a math or a science concept for Grades 1 to 10 students. Lessons had to be delivered in Filipino.
Jacob’s Chemistry lesson was about the relationship between volume and temperature as signified in Charles’s Law.
He made this topic relevant by using something close to the hearts of Filipinos—the making of pandesal.
